The New Halloween Skin

I have been working on a skin we can use for October, and to commemorate Autumn and Halloween as a whole.

I am not sure though, that you will like it. For some reason, the selection of the colour "orange" is quite limited, and so, was forced to use much red and yellow in its stead. As for the icons, I will look for more as soon as I get a confirmation that people wish to use this. I have found some neat ones I reworked a little, for the main icons that we usually see, so you get the idea. Feel free to submit ideas if you have some.
For now, I really wish to see what everyone thinks of the main colour scheme.
I also had some problems with the font...since all the text counts both for posts and the message and forum name atop, I could not use black, as I had wished. I had to change it to red, so it could be visible on both sets. :/

(If you do not mind not seeing the title and Halloween greetings, I've no problem switching it back to black.)

If you like the skin, please post in here and let me know, or if you think some colours should be changed, voice your opinions. Here are some shots of the would be Halloween skin.





Also, please remember, I am not sure how far Forumotion allows the backup, so if we use this, the former skin may be lost, however, people had wanted a new anyway, so during that this is up, I can work on a better permanent one. So, what do you think?

Well personally... I really like it. I think the orangy colour with the brown looks really good. But perhaps I am biased because it just looks more masculine than what we currently have. (not that I do not enjoy the current skin)

Well as I have said, not much orange as far as choice goes in the colour palette, so was rather restricted to this more brownish type, otherwise, it would have been almost neon, blugh.

I was totally tempted to add more red and pinkish colours, but it is supposed to be a Halloween theme, and also, I remember how appalled people were by how wussy it looks originally. XD

Though on my computer, the original skin appears more as burgundy than pink, unless I am colour blind. :/

you aren't Termy. it is more of a burgundy. I, personally, had no problem with the current skin, but the new one looks okay. I kinda think that color orange isn't the...ummm...best orange that could be used, but if its the best that can be done, so be it.

Well the new look is just for October, then it will be something else. And yes, I was rather disappointed for the orange scheme. :/

Interesting. I kind of like it, but it could use more purple and black and slightly less orange.
I am, however, biased toward the current theme, mainly because I'm used to it and this is how I picture SE.

What if I turn one of the oranges (Preferably the light one.) into black, and then turn the font purple? Let me go see what it does, then I will post a shot.

Here is a new one. Orange and purple together sucks, so I got rid of it. This one is a little less Halloween-y, but it is still creepy looking. :/

This one does look darker, and so kind of better fits in with the mood of the forum.

I actually like this one a bit better than the old one...okay, not a bit, but a lot. I also agree with Mr. Midgar, it fits in better with how I think of the forum.

I like the second one, although the first one is awesome too.

So, do we use the second one then?

I do like the second one better than the first (I still prefer the regular skin, and please don;t switch it until reading my forum skins thread, unless you know we can definitely get this one back after having the Halloween skin)

Okay, I figured out how to save the former skin. It is now on my hardrive, and if we wish it back, I just have to upload it. I had to save this one as well for this to happen.
So basically we can have as many skins as we wish, only that members cannot decide which ones they would like...which sucks.

So, here is the skin for October, though it slightly bothers me. Anyways, I hope you enjoy. XD
