in half life you get jumped by headcrabs who attach to your head and break open your skull and attach themself to your nerve system which keeps you at least partialy aware of your state. So I choose that

Hmmm... lead a tortured half-life (no pun intended) after having your brain and skull dismantled by an alen creature, or have a different alien creature... Jump on one;s face and later have its young burst from one;s torso. I say the former. At least I might have a chance at becoming a cyborg, rather than being horribly mentally scarred for the rest of my afterlife.

demons. superintelligent sharks are only found in really tacky sci-fi movies. And slayers exist to hunt demons, but the only shark slayer is a fish from that stupid shark fin movie.
