Thanks for that. I think it's a part of the story when I go in next, something to do with Squall and Quistis, I can't remember too well because it was after that my last file got erased. Crying or Very sad

Huh you think she is cute? I find her disturbing. But then I find myself disturbing when I wear my glasses!

my tactic is: always try draw in a boss fight because a few of them have gf's... you recognize them by not being in question marks and they are useualy the lowest draw
ow and some gf's are really hard to get or only gettable once you have an airship (don't worry) every FF has an airship Very Happy

Ok, I'm going to try again today. I actually got it by accident on my previous file, but luckily I wasn't too far into the game and starting again won't hurt too badly. I'll let you know how it goes! Very Happy

Okies, update. I didn't get as far as last time, I just had time to defeat the winged boss thingy and save my game. I got the summon this time yaya!!!

I had less time than usual today because my mum wanted to start a new game on FFVII. Sadly I can't get her to play FFVIII, and she has been falling asleep when watching me play!!! Oh well, each to their own...

Good for you. I never remember to draw, except at out-of battle draw points, which I exploit beyiond all reason (over 20 cures from the one at the port). Only bothered getting to the SeeDs' first battle, but I'm about level 18. Where are you in comparison to that, at the moment?

I think it's just very different, that's all. It's kinda like with XII- it takes a lot of getting used to. But I'm really hoping that like with XII I'll eventually get to a point where it clicks and I can do it easily. Plus I've heard that it takes a long time to get really going with the story anyway.

I'm actually doing better this time. I haven't been chased down the hill by the robot scorpion thingie yet but I'm at level 10. I'm planning to do a good bit of training before I go back to Balamb Garden as I was before, then the training ground should be a lot easier! Cool

Don't worry, by the time I get through, I'll join the ranks of people who have finished the game. I very rarely let a game go once I've made up my mind to do it Wink

Re: Diary of hell

Post by Miss Valentine on Mon Nov 19, 2007 11:11 am

Meh, so much for my heroic speech!

After watching my mum completely humiliate Cloud on FFVII ("anything YOU want, daddy!!"), I wanted to get back to business with VIII. So I went to "continue game", as you do, only to find that my file wouldn't load! The stupid thing kept saying "Not Formatted", "Not Formatted". I tried lots of different stuff to get it to work, but to no avail.

You see, I was using a seperate memory card from the one with our FFVII games on because I didn't want my brother to erase the file, whereas it doesn't matter so much about the VII files because we've done that game almost to death. Little did I know that the memory card I chose was corrupted....

So my mum has cheered me up with the idea of going to Gamestation tomorrow to see if we can get another PS1 memory card, so I can start again, again. And in the meantime, I've been playing my current FFVII file, I went to Lucrecia's cave and the sunken plane Gelnika.

Pah, the miserable weather made it all more frustratig losing my file, and I've been so determined to battle (ahem) my way through FFVIII, the prospect of starting over a third time seems almost unbearable. But of course I won't give up. It's the only one I haven't done yet (except for XI which I can't play, Crisis Core because it isn't out yet, I-VI for various reasons and X-2 because, bleugh), so it's really driving me crazy!!!

Other than that, not much happened today. Need to post lots to forget my sorrow!

Re: Diary of hell

Post by Miss Valentine on Tue Nov 20, 2007 12:47 pm

Ah what a day!

As aforementioned, I went on a mission today to find a new PS1 memory card. Little did I realise that they are now like golddust!!! The first two shops I tried said they didn't stock them anymore. Makes me realise also how old the PS1 is, which completely sucks! Sad

But for once I actually had some good luck come my way- the third shop I tried had ONE LEFT, a used one for 99p. So I got it. I was quite amused to find that it still had some old files on it (GT2 and V aRally, both games I don't have), but what the heck, it's better than nothing!

So tomorrow I can finally restart FFVIII, and maybe make some progress with it. I want to know what happens next!!! (don't tell me though...)

Or most GameStops I've been to.
Ironically, classic gaming stores don't often carry them.

Re: Diary of hell

Post by Miss Valentine on Wed Nov 21, 2007 10:05 am

Well that's more patience than I got....

I've been hit by the worst news...my mum has told me that she is already sick of my brother (something about spaghetti bolognese and my mum's hand-made upholstery) and he has to come back to live with me. I don't know when that will happen, and I'm sure my brother will fight it as best he can, but I can't say no because until he gets this new house he is supposed to be getting, he has nowhere else. And my mum gently reminded me that if he doesn't come back here, he is intending to cutt off the internet connection...

Excuse me while I just go and cry. BASTARDS!!!! Mad Crying or Very sad

Lucky. Must make you feel grateful for your family huh?

Anyways, it's not all bad news. On Friday I'm having the heating system connected (yaya we shall wake up warm on Saturday morning) and the locks changed (one of the keys for my house went missing when they put the new door on, tut tut)
