Vent's Theme
So I finished it. Well actually I just got bored of tweaking it so I submitted it how it is >.> whoa I have to work on my work ethic I'm just too lazy these days-

Vent's theme was originally written by Masashi Hamauzu, it's a weird guitar piece which I was asked to arrange in order to pass a little test a friend gave me. He's looking for someone to score his RPG, and he wanted to try out my skills. Although I would have preferred to write something original, under the time restraints I just agreed to the arrangement. Here's the original fyi-

C&C would be nice ^^

Re: Vent's Theme
It seems a bit simple at first, if nice to listen to, but then the underlying strings kick in, and it starts to sound really nice.
I like it. Then again, I tend to be biased towards this sort of music. And I have no idea who Vent is. I haven't yet heard the original, but I can do a comparison when i hear it. Your compostion sounds good, though. On a scale of 1-365 1/4, where To Zanarkand was 320, I would rate this about 300. Not the best, but certainly well worth listening to. Then again, I really listen to this sort of thing because I like to, not because I study it. Yet another "then again," the people who are supposed to teach this sort of thing tend to be more focused on playing it how it's written rather than playing it how it shoudl sound, so they really wouldn;t be the best judge of music quality anyway. Well, I;m rambling so, "cool song, I'll stop talking."

Lol thankies it all counts JET
Oooh here is the original so you can compare-

I really don't know who Vent is either, and the guitar theme itself, although it has complex chords, sounded kinda dreary and simple to me, so I just focused on enhancing that. You're right though, and I do need to move onto some more complex stuff methinks. Still I'm glad that you liked the sound and the mood I created ^^
