The Dictionary of Invented Words

Post by Miss Valentine on Sun Nov 11, 2007 6:36 pm

This is the place to put all those invented words, whether intentional or not, and try to figure out what they mean. They can be used in all posts on this forum, and IWs are welcome from other boards too.

I'm gonna start with the word "pison", from the Throw Something Random thread. Obviously a spelling mistake meant to mean "poison", I shall base its meaning on this. "Pison" is a rare form of potion that has the opposite effects to an elixir, in that it causes death and saps all of a character's mp.

Heh heh what will be next? Mr Green

Hiw interesting. Smile I have many of them, but they are all in French, heh.

When I began smoking though, I used to give cigarettes other words, so that grownups would not know what I was talking about. I changed the word cigarette to ''blue'', and it became so conditioned unto me and a few friends (They had to do it as well, since I knew where to steal the cigarettes from. *Laughs!*) that years after everyone knew I had picked up this nasty habit, I still called them blues for a long time. O_o

Heh heh heh heh!! Genius!!

I invented the word sucky, because I got bored of saying "it sucks", it's so generic. So I started saying "it's sucky" instead. Actually that's a pretty terrible example!!!

Here's one also invented by mistake during posting- Caulkdron. Whatever that is I want one!!!

I knew this place would appeal to you!!!

I'm also going to insert the word yaya, which started off as a spelling mistake, but I kept it because it sounds nearly as cool as booya

So far we have-

Blues
Conditioned transformation of the word ''cigarette'', founded and used about eleven years ago to subtly pursue a death inducing habit.

Caulkdron
Apparently, something of such magnificent value that we must all own one.

Interisitaling
A bastard variation of Old English whose meaning escapes me. Pending description until the founder elaborates.

Pison
Spelling mistake of the word ''poison'', which became a variation of such, originally founded in forum games.

Sucky
A variation of the slang ''sucks'', cleverly related to non conformist verbalism.

Verbalism
Apparently, this word does not exist in the English dictionary-I have now, without knowing it, just created it. It is meant to represent a strange, cult like regrouping of literary aspects which do not abide by diplomatic and/or academic norms of the modern society.

Yaya
Originally a spelling mistake, this word is used to exclamate victory and general joy, and almost thwarts its older brother, Booya, in terms of ',kick ass-ness''.

I shall update this list as more words appear. Very Happy

This is going incredibly well!! Very Happy

Even though I didn't invent the word myself, I should explain "okies". It's another reference to Love Hina the mangas, Su says it a lot instead of "Ok", it's a childish version of the term.

Verb: the verb, as opposed to the noun. as in to verb something, like "I now verb the noun 'verb' to the verb 'verb'."

I won't be able to think of anything else before I get that out of the wayu.

I like wicks!!

And Turks is fantastic, how he invented the word Fricken, it's probably one of the only episodes of Scrubs that I saw!!

I wonder who invented lol?

Lunacious- I just though it up now, it's more accurate to describe me than lunatic or tenacious, so I combined the two!

Yeah. Fricken: Fried chicken. Not to be confused with:
Frickin': replacement for adjective swear words. a form of "frick", generic non-swear. Sounds like several different swear words and expletives, but isn't. Use similar to"freak," "freaking." Also from scrubs, but first and most commonly used by Elliot.
